It feels nice to see a familiar face after a while.
But being surrounded by strangers is also pretty peaceful.
They know you for a brief moment. They know you by the mood you were in at that moment, the clothes you wore that day, what you said to them, how you made them feel.
You may click. You may never see each other again.
Both ways are comfortable.
Familiar faces are a lot more effort.
Too many points of reference.
I am increasingly disliking cumulative memory.
And more so how people use that cumulative memory.

Long long time ago...we were funny
'Random Thoughts' (a community on a social networking site) came to me and a few friends in the monsoons of 2006. Many lazy afternoons were spent in word play. Went back there today and dug out those conversations. It made me laugh and feel proud of my humour and my opponent's witty comebacks. They make me want to play again. But I guess we can't play again because it isn't monsoon of 2006 yet....
Until then I leave you with excerpts of a game called 'tell me why'....
Q: Tell me why is it that certain people think that being John Galt is the ultimate aim of life?
A: because certain people are not in sync with the remainder people whose penultimate aim in life is to be a free spirited fountain.
Q: Tell me why do i have deja-vous all the time?
A: maybe because you have "already seen" this level of the game time and again. eat the forbidden fruit and proceed to next level !
Q: On a philosophical note, why are people mean (so easily )?
A: because some people have a central tendency to it ! hee hee haa haa ! pun queen ! phissh !
Q: Tell me why are you so impatient?
A: Because i do not posses the ability to endure waiting, delay, or provocation without becoming annoyed or upset. apart from that I am quite calm.
Q: Tell me why is one verbose?
A: Because laconia is a small land and can hold only so many people , the rest all become verbose
Q: Tell me why Beckham bends it?
A: Because initially Beckham was a cross country runner and everyone knows running on roads causes knee bones to bend and hence his apparent talent is but a disability. we must praise the tar roads in Essex and not this blond boy.
Q: Why has love become so elusive?
A: Love is a condition or a phenomenon which was made to elude capture. Was devised in jest by the lord himself. His way of playing "carrot at the end of a stick" if u must....and hence love remains and will remain elusive for most....except for them who dislike carrots or maybe were smart enough to find a way around the stick.
Q: Why did frog jumped in the well?
A: Adult frogs are characterised by long hind legs, a short body, protruding eyes and the absence of a tail....in order to exercise his long hind legs and hide in shame about his absent tail he jumped into the well.
Q: Why are the aliens always green?
A: Aliens as we call them in popoular culture, exist amongst us, as they watch our every move and hence they choose to be green because of the colour's camouflaging properties....however, what with the depleting trees...they might have to rethink their strategy !
Q: Tell me why do we need to sharpen a pencil for precision writing?
A: Precision writing required utmost concentration , when people try to disturb you a pointy pencil comes in very handy to poke or slash or use as a dart if it is well balanced , as Camlin once said, "a pointed pencil is mightier than a sword" now you may be wondering why not keep a sword while precision writing, see if a sword goes blunt you have to take it to hatari honzo, whereas in a pencil just use the sharpener.
Q: Tell me why Rome wasn't built in a day?
A: Rome has a huge number of monuments and ruins both modern and ancient. While the ancient ruins and monuments were easy to construct, the modern ruins took a while as the city planners had exhausted all creative resources by then, and hence it took more than a day to built. Ahem.
Q: Tell me why people climb hills?
A: Because hill as a land form is generally higher than its surrounding terrain and might give some novice an idea of being above the rest of the gentry. or something like that. Hmm.
Q: Tell me why dearth creates price?
A: because dearth of excitement is a huge price to pay for an adult life.
Q: Tell me why am I feeling cornered?
A: Because in the geometry of infinite triangles, any point is always a vertice, for ever increasing number of triangles. And since the number is always increasing, hence the feeling of being cornerised evermore. Hence proved.
Q: Tell me why do we get jealous of each other?
A: Because Othello is filled with jealousy at the thought of losing Desdemona and hence it must be a cool thing to do =)
Q: Tell me why the word "why" starts with "W", ends with "Y" & has 3 letters?
A: Because with any other combination it would become a different word, for example a word starting with "S" and ending with "D" would make stupid if the info tells you its a 6 letter word.
Q: Tell me why is the world round?
A: No particular reason. Generally to avoid sharp corners. God is caring, you see... glee.
Q: Tell me why pot is better than the khet?
A: Because pol pot went to (rani)khet for extermination of intellectuals and other "bourgeois enemies" and since pot was righteous, khet must be bad.
Q: Tell me why did Betty sell sea shells at the sea shore?
A: She didn't. She was falsely accused. In reality Betty stole a bit of better butter to make the bitter butter better. For this she was suitably punished as prescribed in the scriptures.
Q: Tell me why the north pole of a magnet always points north?
A: Because in its heart of hearts a magnet is but a child longing for Santa to come each year with his gifts...and thus the longing look towards north pole...to explain why the magnet looks towards north pole post Christmas too....i give to you a lil devil called greed :)
Q: Tell me why does the papyrus plant grow on swampy areas?
A: Because just as swampy areas are converted into swanky neigbourhoods, similarly papyrus is converted into swanky chimanlal's paper. And hence to maintain this association they continue this symbiotic relationship.
Q: Tell me why I never took a liking to cats?
A: Cats tend to ignore people dogs adore them , as somebody once said "to keep a reality check on your life , keep a dog that worships you and a cat that ignores you" you being inclined to surrealism obviously don't have a need for a cat.
