Dear Dot

This is exactly what you look like when you are being a total nautanki and saying No. EXACTLY like this.

Dear Dot

You got your own room today! At 19 months you are the first to have your own room. Your parents didn't have this luxury until they were in their teens.

Use your room well. Create many fantasy worlds. Build a castle. Or a tramshed. Live it up !

Dear Dot

You love collecting leaves which makes it impossible for us to reach anywhere on time these days. Autumn is not helping.

Keep the curiosity alive! But then wake up earlier so we have more time to reach our destination. Okay?

Kisses.

Dear Dot

We have moved past your horrible week of accidents. And my horrible work week which made me stay up nights working on a deadline for a client who forgot to mention she would be on vacation until next week.

Now we are focussing on dressing you up for your first Halloween at daycare this 31st.

I love owls. "Dhamri owl" to be precise. This is bangla. If you learn the language, you will know what that means.

So basically you are going as an owl. We did a dress rehearsal today and you look like the cutest woodland creature ever.

Dear Dot

Sachin Tendulkar retired from cricket today and you fell over at daycare and split open your eyebrow on a table corner.

It's a pretty grim Thursday.

Dear Dot

You jail broke your cot bed today, climbed over the railing and landed on the carpeted floor with a thud.

Scared the crap out of us.

We will have our revenge.

Dear Dot

You suck your index finger and you sleep with your bum up in the air. You crawl around the coffee table at supersonic speeds till you go dizzy and collapse on the floor. You are most amused when you are being chased or when you are chasing.

You are funny, mister.

Dear Dot

You took your first steady steps yesterday while we were celebrating your first Rakshabandhan with your little cousin sister in Australia over Skype.

Your great grand mother saw your first steps on Skype.

We've been trying to get you to walk again by placing baits on chairs and tables placed apart but you aren't complying, so we don't have a video yet.

You will soon learn how determined your parents can be when they want to get something real bad.

Game on.

Dear Dot

It's highly probable that you will ask this question at some point in life. Our answer to this is 58.

Cheers!

Dear Dot

They call you Smiler at daycare.
Almost everything makes you giggle.

A tiny social animal you are. Smiling at every stranger we pass by, craning your neck to catch their attention, bursting into a heart melting smile when they do look at you.

A curious soul you are. The slightest sound, the tiniest bug, the crack behind the door everything must be investigated.

You are almost a year old now and I couldn't be happier or more proud of the little man you are growing up to be.

Never lose your ability to be amused or your curiosity. They will tide you well all through life.

Dear Dot

I'm not sure how or why but since I've had you I've become someone more open to change, less conservative and overall a bit more fun to hang out with (I was always fun to hang out with, hence the word 'more').

I feel younger. Bringing out the child in me really must have brought out the child in me (even though that sounds horrible, it's a good thing!)

I do need to blog more though. I seem to have lost my way with words. But that could also be because of this horrible cold you've given me.

Incidentally you had your first bout with sickness about two weeks back. Congratulations on another first !
